Old Masters Fine Art was founded on a simple belief: more people should create.

We live in a world that is increasingly digital, automated, and fast-moving. There is something valuable—and increasingly rare—about stepping away from it, working with your hands, learning a traditional craft, and creating something that is entirely your own.

We believe painting is something almost anyone can learn. You don’t need an art degree, years of experience, or even to think of yourself as an artist. With patience, good instruction, and practice, you can learn the fundamentals and create work you are genuinely proud of.

The value is also in the process. Painting requires us to slow down, focus, observe closely, solve problems, and coordinate what we see with what our hands create. Research supports the broader benefits of making art: one study found that 45 minutes of art-making significantly reduced cortisol, a key stress hormone, in healthy adults—and the effect was not dependent on prior art experience. More broadly, a World Health Organization review drawing on more than 3,000 studies found substantial evidence that engaging with the arts can contribute to both mental and physical health and well-being. Old Masters grew from founder Harkiranjit “Hank” Behniwal’s lifelong love of art and traditional craftsmanship, and his desire to share the satisfaction that comes from making something with your own hands.
